Having a litter box in the home is a convenient method for handling pet feces and urine without having to expose them to the risks of the outdoors. That said, not all litter boxes are equal to one another, not least because the choice of litter can have enormous impact on the results. In particular, if you are searching for litter to use with your litter box, consider getting walnut shell litter rather than what you are already using.
Consider these benefits of using walnut shell litter:
•First, Flowspec litter made using walnut shells is 100 percent natural, making it safe for use under a wider range of circumstances than litter made using more hazardous materials.
•Second, walnut shell litter has been ground to produce a uniform size, thus ensuring that dust cannot enter the air of the living environment. This is of critical importance for the continuing health of both the pet and the homeowner.
•Furthermore, Flowspec litter does not absorb the moisture that can be found in pet feces and urine, thus further reducing the chance of contamination via stated sources. It helps that the natural characteristics of walnut shells also serve to minimize the number of bacteria and other potentially harmful microorganisms.
•Walnut shell litter is practical to use for a number of animal species. For example, it is lighter than sand and a number of other materials that see common use in litter. Combined with its refusal to cling and clump to other materials, this makes it that much easier to clean out and then compost on a regular basis.
•At the same time, Flowspec litter is both gentle and loose, making it well-suited for creating a comfortable living environment for pets, particularly when said animals come from desert environments.
•Given these benefits, it should come as no surprise to learn that walnut shell litter is compatible with numerous animal species. Examples include but are not limited to cats, birds, snakes, lizards, and other reptiles.

Ways to Use Walnut Shell Polishing Media

Although it can come as a bit of a surprise to learn, walnut shells are a raw material that can be made into a number of useful and interesting products for use in a range of applications. One excellent example is something called walnut shell polishing media.
Like its name suggests, walnut shell polishing media consists of walnut shells that have been crushed into small pieces for the purpose of polishing. Walnut shell polishing media is useful in that it is both natural and non-toxic, while remaining both strong enough and tough enough to get the job done. In short, walnut shell polishing media is not only the environmentally friendly option, but also the practical option.
Of course, since not all pieces of crushed walnut shells are well-suited to the same tasks and the same materials, the walnut shell polishing media comes sorted into a number of sizes that run the gamut from coarse to fine and extra fine.

Here are some examples of how a polishing media made using crushed walnut shells can be put to good use:
•Items made of molded metal tend not to come out of their molds in perfect condition. For example, either the item has smaller bits of metal clinging to its surface or has rough surfaces that need to be smoothened out before it can be put to use. Crushed walnut shells are perfect for polishing such items into a usable state.
•That said, metal items tend to accrue signs of wear and tear over time, with examples ranging from scratches to pits. A second go with a polishing media made of crushed walnut shells is useful for removing such blemishes without damaging their finish.
•Finer grades of crushed walnut shells can be used to polish more delicate items such as glass lens and fine metals without wearing them away in the process. In fact, it can even be used to make coral, ivory, and other precious objects truly shine in the spotlight.

What is Walnut Shell Blasting Media?

For people unfamiliar with the concept, blasting refers to the practice of propelling material called media using pressure in the effort to shape a surface to the needs of the user. Examples include but are not limited to smoothening rough surfaces, roughening smooth surfaces, and even removing contaminants clinging to surfaces. As a method, blasting has much to recommend it, not least because it is both efficient and effective.
Of course, the blasting process needs to use the right media to produce the best results. Unfortunately, most of the media that see common use have problems that make them either unpleasant or even inimical to human health. For example, some are corrosive, while others can become serious irritants when breathed in.

This is where walnut shell blasting media comes in.

As its name suggests, walnut shell blasting media is made using crushed walnut shells. Its choice of raw material provides it with the abrasive surfaces needed to be useful in blasting, plus a number of other important benefits such as an angular shape, a multi-faceted surface, and outstanding toughness under pressure. However, in spite of these characteristics, walnut shell blasting media is both biodegradable and non-corrosive. More than enough to make it a softer, gentler and more eco-conscious substitute for more common media such as sand.

In short, if you have surfaces that are in need of a thorough cleaning, then walnut shell blasting media should be your medium of choice. Despite its softer and gentler nature, it is more than enough to scour paint, coatings, and contaminants from a range of surfaces such as glass, metal, stone, wood, and plastic. At the same time, that same softness and gentleness also make it suitable for use in more delicate tasks such as polishing careworn jewelry and removing flash clinging to parts fresh from the mold. Since the media comes in a number of sizes, you can simply choose the one that is best-suited to your needs.

HY Walnut Shell Filter
Walnut Shell Filters How it Works
HY walnut shell filter use walnut shells which are specially processed as its filtering media, because walnut shells special advantages as follows:
1. Walnut shells have strong oil adsorption capacity; it can adsorb most of the oil in the oily sewage.
2. Walnut shells can renewable after back washing; so that walnut shell filter media can be used again, saving water treatment costs.
3. Walnut shells have strong pressure resistance; its pressure resistance is 23.4kgf/cm2.
4. The chemical properties of the walnut shells are stable; it is almost not dissolved in acid and alkali solutions.
5. The hardness of walnut shells is high, and its wear resistance is good too; it can be used for long time.
6. Walnut shells have strong adsorption and pollutant catching capacity (adsorption rate 25-53%)
7. Walnut shells are hydrophilic well, but oil immersion resistant.
8. Because the specific gravity of the walnut shell filter media is little bigger than that of water (1.225g/cm3), it is easy for back washing and regeneration.
The excellent feature of HY walnut shell filter is adopting water before filtering to take back washing, no needing with help of air supply or chemicals. The running costs of walnut shell filter is low, and easy management. The back washing strength of walnut shell filter is small, but the effect is good. Because the walnut shell filter media is nonperishable, its service life is long. And according to water quality requirement, the walnut shell filter can work separately or in series.

How does a Walnut Shell Filter work
Walnut shell filter is one type of separation equipment which adopts filtration separation principle and oil resistance filtering media-walnut shells. It is mainly made up of filtering system, washing system and control system (one is automatic while the other is manual). When filtering, the water sewage flow is from up to down, passing through water distributor, filtering media bedding and water collector, and then one time of filtering finishes. When backwashing, the agitator turns over walnut shell filtering media, the water flow is from down to up, making the walnut shell filtering media be washed and regenerated thoroughly.

Because of the mess and stress involved with stripping paint and removing rust, theses tasks often fall into the category of “chores most people want to avoid.” However, it is possible to make these chores a lot less daunting. Whether you are rebuilding a car, repairing a boat, or refinishing a railing, using walnut shell blasting media can make stripping paint and removing rust considerably less onerous.
http://www.walnutshellpowder.com/walnut_shell.html
Boats
As sturdy as they may look, boats are very delicate machines. From their fiberglass hulls to their aluminum railings, they require considerable care and maintenance. Walnut shell blasting media is an ideal choice for removing paint from the hull or decking because it is abrasive enough to remove paint and rust without scratching or pitting the underlying surface.
No one loves their cars more than classic car collectors. Unfortunately, most classic cars contain a considerable amount of steel which means that over time rust can become a real problem. It quite literally eats away at a classic car owner’s investment. Because of the many angles and crevices that can be found on vehicles, removing rust and old paint safely can be a time consuming and costly affair. Blasting it with walnut shell media can get the job done safely and efficiently. This makes it a cost-effective solution that is appealing to both body shops and private collectors.
Household Needs
From wrought iron railings to redwood decks, walnut shell blasting media can be sprayed without risking damage to these expensive features. Further, because walnut shells are non-toxic and biodegradable, you don’t have to worry about gathering them up after it has been sprayed. This makes using walnut shell media a much better option than silica based abrasives which can harm birds and small mammals should they ingest them.
Contact Flowspec for more information about the many ways that walnut shell blasting media blows away the competition. We will be happy to answer your questions and tell you about the variety of options and grit sizes we have available for use within your operations.

Mechanics: Clean Engines and Transmission with Walnut Shell Blasting

From grease and gunk, to oil and dirt, engines can get dirty very quickly. Over time, these contaminants can slow an engine down and decrease the performance of the vehicle. While it is relatively easy to clean up oil residue and debris on the surface, cleaning the inside of an engine requires considerable TLC. That is why mechanics who work on everything from passenger vehicles to big rigs rely on walnut shell blasting to get their motors running the way they want them to.

Within the engine there are a number of places where it’s necessary to clean up oil residue and other fluids that build up to block everything from intake valves and piston springs, to cylinders and cam shafts. Cleaning these parts quickly and efficiently without damaging them can be tricky because if they are damaged the engine won’t operate properly.
Walnut shell blasting provides the perfect solution to this concern as they are just the right hardness to remove gunk and grime without damaging the surface of the metal whether it is being sprayed on steel, titanium or alloy aluminum.  And, since walnut shells come in a wide variety of grit sizes it is easy to increase or decrease the size of the grit depending on which parts you are cleaning.
Finally, environmental concerns are another significant reason that repair shops are increasing their use of walnut shell blasting mediums as opposed to chemical cleaning solutions. With walnut shells, there are no toxic messes to contain or dispose of. This makes using walnuts less costly to a shop’s operations and allows the shop to advertise the eco-friendly benefits of using their services. This is an important consideration as an increasing number of American consumers are seeking solutions to their transportation needs that don’t harm the environment.
We invite you to contact Flowspec to learn more about the ways walnut shell blasting medium can be used in your operations. We will be happy to answer your questions and tell you more about the walnut shell products we have available to you.
